LeRoy's Story

LeRoy Harry Wagner, age 90 went to his Lord on January 7, 2018 in Le Sueur. LeRoy was born on September 22, 1927 in Deer Creek, MN to Harry and Myrtle (Albrecht) Wagner. He graduated from Deer Creek and served in the US Army in 1945-1947 in Korea. LeRoy married Elaine Kopp on June 10, 1951 at the Methodist Church in Verndale, MN. They farmed at Deer Creek and New York Mills, MN for 14 years before moving to Le Sueur in 1965 to purchase and run the Valley Rollerena Skating Rink, which they had until 1976.
He was employed by Green Giant for 15 years and ADC for another 10 years. After retirement in 1992, LeRoy served as vice-president of the Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship in Mankato and helped start the Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship in LeSueur. He was also a Deacon and an Elder. He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Le Sueur, 5 children; Kevin (Sue) Wagner of Emmons, Nancy (Duane) McVenes of Mankato, Melodee (Jack) Frost of Muldoon, TX, David (Tina) Wagner of Le Sueur and Pam (Merlin) Kent of Plymouth: 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Shirley (Wally) Rach, Overland Park, KS and 1 brother-in-law John (Linda) Kopp, Staples, MN. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Joel Wagner.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 11:00am at New Creation World Outreach Church, Mankato with Pastor Dave Laughlin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
