LeRoy Clarence Flohrs was born on March 20, 1918 to Harry and Sophie Flohrs in Martin County, Waverly Township, Minnesota. He attended school at District 115 graduating from 8th grade. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Galena Township, rural Ormsby, Minnesota. On January 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to Nellie Wohlenhaus at the Immanuel Lutheran Church parsonage. After their marriage they lived and farmed the Flohrs family farm in rural Trimont until their retirement in 1983 moving to Truman. In 2005, LeRoy became a resident of Truman Assisted Living. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He belonged to Farm Bureau, Travelog, and the church Men's Club. LeRoy enjoyed going to the car races in Fairmont, watching sports on TV especially the Twins, Vikings, and Lynx, golfing, going uptown for coffee, and playing cards.
Survivors include his children, Phyllis (Wallace) Richter of Mankato, Lynn Flohrs of Fairmont, Ralph (Cindi)Flohrs of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Ted Flohrs of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Becky (Larry) Tapper of North Mankato, and Kim (Laura) Flohrs of rural Trimont; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Glen Sawyer of Mora, and Uyrel Bicking of Brazil, Indiana, and sisters-in-law, Ilene Wohlenhaus of Mora and Rae Flohrs of Fairmont; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
LeRoy is presided in death by his parents; wife, Nellie; daughter, Sharon; granddaughter, Amy Harvey Flohrs; great granddaughter, Angelina Voltin-Tapper; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Flohrs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard, Stanley, and Oren Flohrs, Maxine, Hazel, and Bev Flohrs; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and George Dworshak, Marjorie Russell, Marcella Sawyer,
and Tom Wohlenhaus and other relatives and friends.
