Kenneth H. Mathews, age 93 of Mankato, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Pathstone Living in Mankato. Funeral services will be Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park Visitation will be two hours prior to services at Woodland Hills Funeral Home.
Kenneth Herbert was born on February 18, 1924 to Thomas and Minnie (Albrecht) Mathews in Mankato, Minnesota. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Ruby Bernice Briggs. After their marriage Kenneth and Ruby raised their family in the Mankato area. For many years he did auto body repair for Lees B-Line and Schultes Auto Repair and then opened his own auto body shop in 1983. Kenneth was a member of the VFW #950 and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Dennis) Dittbenner of Sleepy Eye, MN; very special niece, Dorothy Wolff of Mankato; grandchildren, Kelly (Mark) Johnson, Jodie (Bill) Stuve, Bill Fredin, Kyle (Amoreena) Fredin; 9 great-grandchildren; by many nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends and his loving dog, Tiger.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby; daughter, Sandra Fredin; step-son, Duane Giefer.
