Events

Kathryn "Kathy" Ann Meixl (Siegle) met Jesus on August 31, 2019. A long time Mankato resident, she was visiting family in Sorunda, Sweden when she passed unexpectedly.

Kathy was born in Chaska on April 5, 1961 to Dallas (Luebke) and Gerald "Jerry" Siegle. She graduated from Chaska High School in 1979 and earned a Physical Education degree from Mankato State University in 1984. Her career centered on helping children, most recently as a paraprofessional at Monroe Elementary and instructor at YMCA Mini Camps.

Kathy met Paul Meixl in a ballroom dancing class at Mankato State University. They married May 4, 1985 and raised three girls with abundant love. Her four grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Those whom she loved well include her husband of 39 years Paul Meixl, her daughters Katie (Anthony) Boxrud, Maggie Meixl, Allison Meixl and her beloved grandchildren Liam, Tristan, Cosette and Vera Boxrud. Her mother Dallas Siegle, and siblings Keevin (Karin Ekholm) Siegle, Dr. Kristine (Michael) Hentges, and Kari (Scott Redenius) Siegle. Her mother-in-law Catherine Meixl, and in-laws Joe (Nancy Dobson) Meixl, Nancy Marquart, Carol (Mike) Brantmeier, Jane Meixl, David (Jill) Meixl, Steven (Christine) Meixl. Kathy enjoyed all of her many nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with her late father Jerry Siegle, and late father-in-law Ben Meixl Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14 at Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato with a visitation to begin at 9:00. Social coffee hour to follow.

The loss of a fellow class alumni of Chaska 1979 is truly tragic for us all. I recently had the pleasure of seeing Kathy at our 40 year class reunion on August 24th, Kathy was full of life and love. The sudden loss cannot be understood. Kathy will be truly missed and I’m glad I have memories of her from the past to the present. My heart goes out to family and friends! I will light a candle for her tonight! God Bless!

Dear Paul and family,
We are heartbroken to hear of the sudden loss of Kathy. Though we haven’t lived in Mankato for many years, we always recall fond memories of sweet conversations, smiles and encouragement that Kathy shared during our time we attended Trinity Church together. May the Lord give you comfort and strength during this time. Love in Him, Kip & Christine Thorson and family

I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I learned and assisted Kathy with her group exercise classes for many years. She was a mentor, a friend.

After awhile, I became the program director of the fitness department at the YMCA and had the pleasure of working beside her. She was ALWAYS energetic. Her spirit was full of life & love. Her smile and the way her eyes lit up whenever she talked to you is what I will never forget.

She was truly a big part of my life and my journey to what and who I am today.

I am saddened by this news, but reflecting on the amazing ways she has influenced my life! And, I feel honored to have met her.
