John "Jack"'s Story

John "Jack" F. Finucane, 87 of Mankato passed away on August 19, 2017 at home with his wife Sharon and children by his side. Jack was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years. Jack Finucane was born October 24, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Daisy Finucane.
In 1946 Jack joined the Navy. He served his country as a mechanic on board aircraft carrier for six years during the Korean conflict. After returning from the service Jack was united in Marriage to Sharon. Jack was employed for many years by International Business Machines (IBM). Jack officially retired from IBM in 1991. He avidly followed sports including football and hockey and he also enjoyed coaching youth hockey and softball.
He is survived by his of wife of 61 years Sharon and their children Tom Finucane, Pat Finucane, Shawna (Keith) Hansen, Colleen Baker, Erin (Kurt) Battles and their 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
