John Michael Gannon

May 25, 1939 - November 23, 2018

John Michael Gannon John Michael Gannon was born on May 25, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN. He passed away on November 23, 2018 in Green Valley, AZ after a long battle with cancer.

John lived, worked, and raised his family in Mankato, MN. He was stationed in Korea, while he served his country in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic. He worked at Immanuel St. Josephs Hospital for 44 years as a Maintenance Foreman.
John was a highly skilled carpenter and handyman. His proudest possession was his eye-catching, 1950 Ford Truck, which he renovated and tinkered with until the end. John was a guy who always had a catchy story to tell and was masterful at telling corny jokes. Whether at the Stone Toad in the 1970s, Cheers Bar in the 1980s, or Hooligans most recently, John knew how to have a good time, and his many, many friends would attest to that.

John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane Gannon of Mankato. He was the beloved father of Tina Holcombe (Brian) of Mankato, Jessica Flatequal (Maria Bevacqua) of Mankato, and Tiffany Gannon of Washington DC. He was also a proud grandpa of three boys, Zachary Gannon, Blake Holcombe, and Chase Holcombe. He was a friend to many, and he will be deeply missed.

Condolences, funny stories, and memories can be sent to the family at 190 N. Calle Acuarela, Green Valley, AZ, 85614. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a date in the Spring.
