Jeffrey Gerald Schultz
Jeffrey G. Schultz, age 60, formerly from Janesville, died June 24, 2017 in Oxford Ia. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Anns Catholic church in Janesville, Mn. Internment will immediately follow at the Janesville cemetery.
Jeff was born in Wells, Mn July 24, 1956 to Gerald and Mary Schultz. He graduated from Janesville Public High School in 1974. While in high school, Jeff was in concert band, marching band and jazz band. Jeff was an excellent drummer and especially enjoyed playing in the jazz band.
Jeff also enjoyed and excelled at carpentry. He built and remodeled several homes throughout his career. In Oxford Ia, where Jeff spent the last 20 years, he was known as the best darn carpenter in Johnson county. During his free time Jeff enjoyed golfing with friends. He also enjoyed fishing.
Jeff developed several close relationships while living in the Oxford Ia area and was treated like family to those who knew him best. Jeff became a family member to Jessica and Travis Westen and was a grandpa to their children Sammy and Trevor.
Jeff is survived by two sisters, Becky (Kevin) Sexton of Eagan, Susan (Jim) Leiferman of Janesville; by two brothers, Mitchel (Sheryl) Schultz of Holmen Wi., Jon (Nicki) Schultz of New Richland; a son Josiah of Appleton Wi.; and daughter Naomi of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Mary Schultz.
