Frederick "Fritz"'s Story
Frederick "Fritz" Wolff, age 90, of Winnebago, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 a week after his much anticipated 90th birthday. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 214 Holland St., Blue Earth, MN, with Fr. Peter Klein officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Fritz was born on November 7, 1927. He attended the Huntley grade school. Fritz proudly served in the United States Army as a welder and a paratrooper from 1951-1953. On April 27, 1954 Dolores Schimek and Fritz were united in marriage at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, MN. Fritz farmed his entire life on the family farm near Guckeen, MN. He was a great steward of his land. He was a devout Catholic and very active in the church at Our Lady of Mercy and SS Peter & Paul parishes. Fritz enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and attending children and grandchildren events. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1836, American Legion Post 89 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Fritz will be remembered for his great sense of humor and generosity.
Fritz is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores; children, Brian (Candace) Wolff of Boyceville, WI, Sharon of Pipestone, MN, Duane (Jeanette) of Winnebago, MN, Debra (Roger) Claeys of Winnebago, MN, Nancy (Pat) Adams of Eagle Lake, MN, Mary Kay (Craig) Megard of Mankato, MN, Adrian of Blue Earth, MN, and Barbara (Dave) Walsh, of New Brighton, MN; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Madonna Wolff; brother-in-law, Merle (Alice) Schimek, and many other loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Fritz is preceded in death by his grandchildren, Michael Wolff and Melissa Wolff; parents, Henry and Adele; brothers, Ralph, Francis, Albert, Walter, Anthony; and sister, Rita Eckmann.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (Annual Christmas Party for the Developmentally Delayed), or donor's choice.
