Ernest Auringer, 85, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato. Memorial services will be held at 3pm Friday, June 16, 2017 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Ernie was born August 16, 1931 to Ernest and Lila (Blanshan) Auringer in Mankato. He served in the United Sates Army for four years in Korea. After the Army, Ernie was in the Army Reserves for 17 years. Ernie was united in marriage to Marlene Hackbarth in Nicollet. He worked in auto body work at Brakie Benzie in Mankato, in Hill City, MN, and then at Auto Electronics after he moved back to Mankato. Ernie lived life to its fullest; he enjoyed going to the casino's with his family, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling with his daughter, Pam, working, and was a dancer and State caller for Square Dancing.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Pam Moeri of Mankato and Penny (fiancé Tom Wild) of Anoka; grandsons, Wayne Larson, George Larson, and Ty Moeri; great grandchildren, Skylar, Joey, Lyda, Danye, and Ryan; brother, Dennis (Pat) Auringer of Eagle Lake; sisters, Ardelle Manthey of Shakopee, Ira Lee Clarke of Hill City, Rae Ann Kozitza of North Mankato, and Cora Jo Huebsch of Waseca; and many nieces and nephews.
Ernie is preceded in death by his wife; parents; son in law, Roger Moeri; brother, Willmar Auringer; and sister, Joyce Williamson.
