Dennis's Story

Dennis Curtis Moore, age 70, Mankato, died Sunday, November 26, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Denny was born July 16, 1947, to Waymon and Imogene (Davis) Moore in St. Peter, MN. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1965 and later served in the U.S. Army. Denny married Susan Johnson August 21, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna, MN. Denny cooked at the Holiday House in St. Peter, where he and Sue met, and later managed the Le Sueur Country Club. He was a long-time car salesman in the area, retiring as an independent contractor in 2001.
Denny was an active member of Christ the King and served on several committees. Along with his wife Sue, he was an avid bell collector and active member of the American Bell Association, serving on committees and as an officer at both the international and state levels. He enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, traveling, and playing cards.
Denny is survived by his wife Susan of Mankato; two sisters, Victoria (Louie) King of Mankato, Caron (Brad Barron) Moore of Lewis Center, OH; two brothers-in-law, Roger (Otilia) Johnson of Owatonna, MN, David (Sherri) Johnson of Eagan, MN; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, Kristin (Dominick) DeLuca of New Prague, MN; nieces and nephews, Neal (Jordan) Johnson, Brad Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, Carolyn DeLuca, Nicholas DeLuca, Molly (Scot) Cybyske, Marie (Ken Ebert) Moore, Michael (Liz) Moore, Cameron Barron, Connor Barron, Lily Barron; two great nieces and three great nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; brother Donald; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marcile and Robert Johnson.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation at 10:00. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Memorials may be given to Christ the King or VINE Literacy Center.
