Darline Marie Ward, age 94, of Mankato, died Friday, September 8, 2017, surrounded by her family at home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Garden City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Mayo Clinic Hospice or the donors choice.
Darline was born December 20, 1922, in Mankato to Sidney and Pearl (Forrey) Cox. She was a 1940 graduate of Garden City High School and attended Mankato Commercial College. Darline was united in marriage to Edward Ted Ward on May 3, 1943, in Junction City, KS. After being employed as a secretary at Hubbard Milling Company from 1941 until 1947, Darline then became a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Garden City Christian Church. Darline had a great wry sense of humor and enjoyed reading, current events, and jigsaw puzzles.
Darline is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Edward Ted Ward of Mankato; daughter, Jan (Sy) Yerbich of Vegreville, Alberta; four grandchildren, Robert Ward, Liam Yerbich, Freda Yerbich, and Robin Yerbich; four great-grandchildren; and various nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry; four brothers and one sister.
