Daniel John Stauffer, age 27, of Mapleton, died Thursday, September 21, 2017. Funeral services are 11am Thursday, September 28th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton followed by a lunch at the church. Internment of ashes will take place that same day at Calvary Cemetery in St. James with immediate family only. Daniel's family will receive guests at St. John's Lutheran Church on Wednesday, September 27 from 5-7pm.
Dan was born August 29, 1990 in Mankato to Tom Stauffer and Mary Plumhoff. Dan was a graduate of the Maple River class of 2008. After high school, Dan attended Bethany Lutheran College where he played basketball. Dan spent time living in Mankato, but spent his most recent years living in Mapleton. In February of 2012, Dan's daughter, Mya Christine Stauffer, was born. Mya had her "Daddy Dan" wrapped around her finger, and he wouldn't have had it any other way. His eyes lit up when he saw her, or had the chance to tell anyone about her.
Dan's greatest loves were Mya and his music. He had the opportunity to work with, record, and perform with a number of Minnesota musicians who shared his passion for music.
Dan is survived by his father Tom Stauffer of Mapleton, his brother Ryan Stauffer of Omaha, NE (Kristina), sister Emily Stauffer of Gillette, WY (Ethan); daughter Mya Stauffer of Truman; significant other; Kiley Richele; step-father Randy Jaeger of Mapleton; Grandparents: Bud & JoAnn of St. James, and Shirley Jaeger of Mapleton; nephew Noah, niece Audrey, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his mother Mary, grandparents Warren & Ruth Stauffer, Bob Jaeger, and his uncle Ted Plumhoff.
