Christopher William McMullen, age 38, passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 25, 2018 in Woodbine, Iowa after the dump truck he was driving fell into water in a sand pit. Christopher was born on December 15, 1979 in Madelia to Bill and Jeanne (Snyder) McMullen. He was raised in Madelia and graduated from Madelia High School in 1998. After graduating, he attended Willmar Technical College in Carpentry Construction. He worked alongside his father with BMBuilder's until he decided that working with heavy equipment was more his passion. He then became a member of the local 49, employed by Southern Minnesota Construction, driving various pieces of heavy equipment. Christopher enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with friends and taking his boys to his family's cabin. He was a devoted father and was known for telling everyone that "My boys are my life".
Left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life are his sons, Caden and Owen, their mother Carly Gustafson of Madelia; parents, Bill and Jeanne McMullen of Madelia; sister, Erin McMullen and special friend, Greta Stroot of Alexandria, MN; grandmother, Lorraine Sawatzky of Madelia, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Teresa McMullen, and Charles Snyder.
Christopher may no longer be with us, but he will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
