Charles "Charlie" Voda

Charles Charlie Voda Charles "Charlie" Voda, age 67, passed away in his home on Sunday, December 2, 2018 after a recent diagnosis of cancer. He was surrounded by family.
Charlie was born in Faribault, MN, in 1951 to Dorothy and Edwin Voda. He grew up on Belle Avenue in Mankato, attended Mankato Loyola and graduated in the class of 1970. Charlie continued his education at Mankato Vocational and was a tool and die maker by trade.
In 1974, he married Terese Coughlan of Mankato, and together they raised three daughters and six grandchildren. Over the years they have owned and operated several small businesses, including Aqua Terra, MVP Pets, Katoinfo, PcDudes, and most notably Save Mor Jewelry. He mastered the art of making a deal, had a vast knowledge of many subjects and was a jack of all trades.
Charlie was also an avid fisherman and loved being in nature. He enjoyed working on small engines, gunsmithing, raising poultry, and marine and freshwater aquariums. Most of all, Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a great storyteller and teacher, playing a pivotal role in many people's lives. His happy personality and sense of humor were an inspiration to all who spent time with him. Charlie was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, employer, mentor, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Sister, Barb (Mark) Boone. Brother, Jim (Linda) Voda. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jacob John Voda.

I am very sad to hear of Charlie’s passing. I will miss the many visits I had with him in his office. He got me interested in coins and silver. His knowledge about guns and coins was extraordinary. My condolences to his family.

To the Voda’s;

I am so sorry to hear about Charlie. I am in total shock. Your family was always so gracious to to me as a young child. I will never forget Charlie or your family, in fact Jackie helped me by my engagement ring for my wife in 1997. I remember calling Charlie and he said to deal with Jackie! My condolences to your entire family.

Charlie was kind enough to give me my first job at Aqua Terra. I was super excited to work for Charlie and learned so much from his wisdom on the tropical and marine fish trade. As you might imagine he was a blast to work and was always full of laughter and fun. Those are memories I will never forget even 40 years later. He definitely was a positive influence on my life and I wish Teresa, his brother Jim, and the rest of the Voda’s all the best through this difficult time.

To the Voda family,

I am so sorry to hear of your enormous loss. Charlie was a very kind man. He was very welcoming to me the few times I met him. Thinking of you all in this difficult time. Cancer is a horrible thing and takes way too many of our beautiful loved ones. Wishing you peace and comfort this holiday season and on.
Love,

It is never easy saying Good bye to a loved one. May sweet memories bring you all a semblance of comfort.
Charlie was truly a special man that graced this earth.
I admired his knowledge of antiques and estate jewelry and his willingness to share his experience.
Blessings to the Voda Family...

While I am not sure I ever met Charlie, he was a great friend to my sons, Pet and Matt. Because he gave so much love and counseling to so many during his time on earth, I know his spirit will forever rejoice. My heart aches for Charlie's family and circle of friends.
