Charles "Charlie" Voda

Charles Charlie Voda Charles "Charlie" Voda, age 67, passed away in his home on Sunday, December 2, 2018 after a recent diagnosis of cancer. He was surrounded by family.
Charlie was born in Faribault, MN, in 1951 to Dorothy and Edwin Voda. He grew up on Belle Avenue in Mankato, attended Mankato Loyola and graduated in the class of 1970. Charlie continued his education at Mankato Vocational and was a tool and die maker by trade.
In 1974, he married Terese Coughlan of Mankato, and together they raised three daughters and six grandchildren. Over the years they have owned and operated several small businesses, including Aqua Terra, MVP Pets, Katoinfo, PcDudes, and most notably Save Mor Jewelry. Charlie enjoyed his 33 years at Save Mor buying and selling coins, collectibles, antiques, jewelry and gold & silver. He mastered the art of making a deal, had a vast knowledge of many subjects and was a jack of all trades.
Charlie was also an avid fisherman and loved being in nature. He enjoyed working on small engines, gunsmithing, raising poultry, and marine and freshwater aquariums. Most of all, Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a great storyteller and teacher, playing a pivotal role in many people's lives. His happy personality and sense of humor were an inspiration to all who spent time with him. Charlie was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, employer, mentor, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Terese Voda. Daughters; Melissa Kes, Patty (Eric) Cornell, Jackie (Marshall "Ben") Bennett. Six grandchildren; Megan, Julia, Naomi, Jackson, Marissa, and Ryan. Sister, Barb (Mark) Boone. Brother, Jim (Linda) Voda. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jacob John Voda.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sunday December 9th at Hooligans Restaurant in Mankato.
