Carol Delores Schlosser, age 85, of Waseca, MN passed away peacefully after battling complications from COPD on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Carol was born in Harvey, North Dakota on December 24, 1932 to George and Marie Gludt. She graduated from Harvey High School in 1951. She attended and graduated from Marcy School of Nursing in Valley City, North Dakota as a registered nurse in 1954. She worked as a registered nurse at St Michaels Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota and at St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, North Dakota. On August 13, 1960, Carol married Reynold Schlosser.
Carol was a stay at home mom who enjoyed, and was kept busy, taking care of her 4 children. She was active and involved in girl scouts, boy scouts, band boosters, church circle, scholarship committee and many other school and community activities. In 1981, Carol began working at the Sears catalog store in Waseca, MN with her husband. She worked at the store until 1993. From 1993 to 1999, Carol worked at extended day after school day care, continuing with her passion of caring for young children. Carol enjoyed arts and crafts, putting together puzzles and watching college and pro sports teams from Minnesota. Carol also regularly attended the sporting events of her children and grandchildren, actively cheering and supporting their teams. Carol was a great cook with specially selected meals prepared for holidays, birthdays, and special events.
Carol is survived by her four children, Danette (Tom) Johnson of Plymouth, MN, Brendan (Karen) Schlosser of Madison, AL, Jay (Lisa) Schlosser of Apple Valley, MN and Nancy (Troy) Voth of Mazeppa, MN; seven grandchildren: Matt Johnson, Katie Johnson, Lauren Schlosser, Jared Schlosser, Joe Schlosser, Erika Schlosser and Parker Voth and her sister Sharon (Ron) Stenson.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Gludt,her husband Reynold Schlosser; her sister Lucille and her brother Francis (Tex).
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Starkson & Steffel Funeral Home ~ McRaith Chapel of Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
