Bernard Herman Dannhoff

Bernard Herman Henry Dannhoff was born on June 6, 1929 to Gustav Karl Dannhoff and Elsie Rose "Wohjahn" Dannhoff on a farm in South Branch Township, rural St. James, Minnesota. He was baptized on June 23, 1929 and later confirmed on June 6, 1943 both at St. John's Lutheran Church in South Branch. Bernard received his education at St. John's Lutheran in South Branch. On February 12, 1947 he entered the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge on July 21, 1948. He then served in the Army Reserve from 1948 until 1952. Bernard farmed in South Branch Township and Rosendale Township. On August 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lorna Anna Cecelia Zellmer at the Willow Creek Parsonage. They then farmed and raised their family in South Branch Township. Lorna died on July 3, 2001. He continued living on the farm and helping his son farm and sold Super Crost - Garst Seed Corn. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in South Branch. Bernard enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going for drives, having coffee, telling jokes and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by his three sons, Dean Dannhoff of Mankato, Minnesota, Ron (Chris) Dannhoff of Hartford, South Dakota, Gary (Linda) Dannhoff of rural St. James, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; beloved friend, Barb Rinne of St. James, Minnesota and other relatives and friends.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, wife, Lorna Dannhoff; an infant daughter; brother, Carl Dannhoff; sisters, Alice Davis and Agnes Warner and other relatives.
