Arletta Irene Goettl, age 85, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at Water's Edge in Mankato. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Arletta was born September 3, 1931 in Mankato, MN to Charley and Loretta (Lotton) Coult. She attended school at St. Peter and Paul's Elementary and Iron Bridge School District #131. On April 17, 1950 she married Eugene Goettl, Sr. in Mankato. She was employed by Mankato House Nursing Home from 1976 until retirement in 1996. Arletta enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren, playing cards, driving her golf cart around the farm, cooking, canning, playing her harmonica, flower gardening and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary #475 of St. Clair which she held all officers positions.
Arletta is survived by sons, Paul of Mankato, Keith (Joan) of Rush City, Bill (Roz) of St. Clair; daughters, Molly (Wayne) Goebel of Mankato, Pam (Thane) Shaw of Pemberton; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Goettl of Eagle Lake; brothers, Les Coult of Good Thunder, Lyle (Nila) Coult, & sister Janice Coult of St. Clair; brother-in-law, Bob (Ethel) Schultz of Madelia; sisters-in-law, Diane (Ted), Good Thunder, Betty Goettl of New Auburn; Barb Goettl of Mankato and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene N. Goettl, son, Eugene "Geno" Jr.; granddaughter, Jessica Roz Goettl and great grandson, Thane Louis Shaw; parents; parent-in-law, Ed and Clara Goettl; four sisters; three brothers; and husband Eugene's brothers and sisters, and two nieces and a nephew.
Arletta's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Water's Edge and Saint Croix Hospice for all their care and hard work.
